Who We Are
The Lighthouse Youth Center is a para-church organization that reaches youth ages 9-18 with the message of the Good News of Jesus Christ. In a world where youth are constantly being bombarded with negative influences and confusing messages, the Lighthouse Youth Center stands as a safe haven and guiding light of truth. For over 35 years, the Lighthouse has carried out the mission of loving, empowering, and equipping youth through programs anchored in Jesus Christ. Thousands of children have walked through the doors of the Lighthouse and have been empowered to live a life that is honoring to God and to others.
What began as the initiative of concerned community members has grown to become a trusted pillar in the Oxford community offering free, essential resources to youth. Lighthouse programs and services provide assistance for youth in 5 key areas: Relational, Educational, Emotional, Physical, and Spiritual.
The Lighthouse first opened it's doors in 1988 in a small storefront property in Oxford, PA. In 2015, the Lighthouse moved to a brand new location only a few blocks away from the original building. The new 11,000 square foot facility has allowed the ministry to serve more youth, facilitate more programs, and allow room to grow in order to continue to serve the Oxford community for many years to come.
The Lighthouse is more than just an activity center, it is a safe haven for youth where they know that they are loved, valued, and created by God on purpose and for a purpose. Beyond meeting basic needs, the Lighthouse exists to empower and equip youth with the resources they need to live out their God-given potential.
